I am diligently trying to change the perception of the painting contractor by offering an experience that promises to complete your project on time and on budget, in a clean and professional manner. Many people do no have such an experience, which is why I have created this page of frequently asked questions.
No. Unlike most other paintering contractors who require a deposit, I do not receive any money until the job is complete and you are satisfied.
Yes. I have general liability and worker's comp. through Farm Bureau of North Carolina.
Yes. I will produce a proposal that outlines exactly what work will be performed, and what price the job will be done for. That price cannot be exceeded for the work listed on the proposal.
Yes. We do not play music, smoke, use foul language, or leave a mess. We dress in painter's pants and a "Michael Dale Painting & Services" shirt.
Yes. Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams have an exterior paint that can be applied in temperatures down to 35 degrees.
A log house can be stained year-round as long as we use an oil-based stain.
Yes. All paint and materials are included in the proposal price.
Yes. Unlike some painters who skip around from job to job, we stay on your job until it is complete. Of course weather can be a factor on exterior jobs.
I prefer to use Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams products. Both have served us well over the years. However, we will use whatever product the homeowner specifies.
Yes. I've been around this business long enough to know what works and what doesn't. I will guide you in the right direction, but you must be the one who makes the final decision.
At the first sign of paint failure. Usually 7 years, maybe longer. Unless of course you want to change colors.
Normally, we work from 8am to 4pm.
On the interior, use flat or eggshell. Flat is not as washable, but it touches up well and hides imperfections. Eggshell is more washable, but tends to show imperfections. I would recommend using eggshell or satin in kitchens and bathrooms. Use semi-gloss on trim and doors. Use flat on the ceilings.
On the exterior, use satin on the siding and semi-gloss on trim.
We usually have a backlog of about 1 month. Do not hire someone who says that he can start tomorrow!
Typically there will be three professional painters on site. If it is quiet a large project, there may be five or six. If it's a small job, there will be one or two.
Still have questions? Please contact me anytime! I look forward to hearing from you.
